Dear Parents
Christmas is upon us! Today we were all enthralled by the two performances given by the Pre-Prep children. The Rs and 1s were magnificent in, for some, their first school show and the progress shown by the Year 1s was wonderful to see. The Year 2 and 3s were something else! They raised the bar significantly this year and gave us a splendid start to the Christmas season. My thanks to Peter Snell who, once again, has pulled together the talents and skills of the children, and the supporting staff, to produce two wonderful productions. Well done, the Pre-Prep team!
We look forward to next week’s Prep school Christmas Concert on Friday and to the end of term when we will enjoy the uplifting singing forces of the children in two events; the Pre-Prep Carol Concert on Thursday 13 December marking the end of the Pre-Prep term and at St Botolph’s Church on Friday 14 December to celebrate the Prep school end of term at the Carol Service.
There are parties and other events along the way, so it is important that everyone gets enough sleep to enable them to see it through to the end of term without too many illnesses.
Tonight sees the fullest boarding house I can ever remember at Holmwood; the Big Boarding Night In! I am sure the 60+ boarders will have a great time, not least as they get to go to bed later and get up for breakfast later!
We are working hard to improve the new style newsletter and hopefully, this week’s is more in line with what we all want. My thanks to Fi in the front office for all her work in this development project.
With best wishes
