Year 3 had great fun making pancakes as part of their English lesson this week. They discovered all about Shrove Tuesday and why we traditionally make pancakes on this day. They then carefully read and followed the Pancake Recipe instructions in order to make their pancakes.. After a tasty feast of pancakes the children’s final challenge was to piece together a jumbled up copy of the recipe, using their reasoning skills to put it in order and then highlight the heading, subheadings, verbs, adverbs and time conjunctions within the text.
