Dear Parents
With the sun shining, the thought of spring (and even summer?) seems just a little bit more possible! Let’s hope for a super half term week of sunshine.
I should be used to the pace of school terms by now but this half term of 6 weeks has flown by in a whirlwind. The children have been making really good progress in so many areas of their learning and it has been exciting to see glimpses of this in each week’s lovely newsletter prepared so carefully by Fi in the school office. Let’s take a moment to say thank you, Fi!
We waved off our intrepid classicists this morning as Mrs De Voy, Mr White and Mr Cortes led the excited group of 15 as they embarked on their journey to Rome for what looks to be an amazing opportunity. Their itinerary includes the Colosseum, Gladiator School, the Vatican and plenty of wonderful Italian food! We wish them well.
Our boarding provision underwent its annual MOT this week. Bellevue’s boarding governor, Christopher Sanderson, visited on Tuesday and gave us a clean bill of health. We follow the National Minimum Standards for Boarding Schools which is quite a tome. The standards required ensure your children are cared for in a safe and secure environment whilst boarding at Holmwood. My thanks to the boarding team, led by Mrs De Voy and Mrs Bradbury for their hard work.
I have sent all parents a letter this evening about the restructuring of the school fees from September 2019.
I look forward to welcoming you all back after the break for what I know will be a very rapid five weeks!
