From the Headmaster….

Dear Parents

We were treated today by the Year 2s as they presented their findings to parents and the rest of Pre-Prep based on their study of Queen Victoria and the Victorian era. They were confident, well-versed and enthusiastic and it was clear how much they had enjoyed the learning process. Thank you to the staff who supported that learning.

Our tutor/tutee mentoring programme went well this week giving tutors the opportunity to delve more deeply into the learning experiences and the wider lives of their tutees. This will inform the tutor report which will be shared with parents at half term.

I shared some images and ideas with the whole school today in assembly to kick off next week’s Theme Week based on the Elizabethan era. We sent home a grid of the planned learning opportunities which looks very exciting and I know the children love the approach taken during this weeks. Please do talk to your children about the amazing array of 16th century learning they have enjoyed.

We also look forward to the annual Year 8 Burns’ Supper in Wednesday next week where I shall personally address the haggis as well as act out a number of the Bard’s poems. After enjoying what will be a super meal prepared by Tina and her team, our bad of regular Scottish dancers will lead us through the steps of some reels in the Jubilee Hall.

With best wishes
